Poll: What do Russians think about the reasons for the appearance of tattoos on the human body
According to the results of the VTsIOM poll, 32% of Russian residents believe that the appearance of a tattoo on a person indicates his desire to stand out from the general mass, and 30% believe that the first tattoo is usually done out of stupidity.

As shown by the results of the latest survey in Russia, 43% of respondents believe that people get their first tattoo – wanting to stand out, almost the same number of respondents – 41% think that they get a tattoo following modern fashion trends.
27% of respondents consider the presence of a tattoo to be signs of a crime, they believe that this indicates the time spent in prison, 20% regard tattoo drawings on the body of other people only as decoration, 11% perceive drawings on the body as a sign that refers a person to a certain social or cultural group.

Among those surveyed, 11% had a tattoo on their body. 30% of them said that the tattoo on their body appeared due to the stupidity that they committed in their youth. Most of these answers – 59% – among the age group over 60.

- 33% want to remove a tattoo because of the unattractive appearance of the drawing and the low quality of the tattoo.
