Multi-colored eyeballs – the experience (story) of Matt Gone

Matt is one of the few people who decided to get their eyes tattooed. He first got an eye tattoo in 2010. The right eyeball is green, the left is blue.

Yes, Matt tattooed his own eyes in his bathroom by the mirror! This was in 2010. Only 20 people on Earth have tattoos on their eyes! Nine months ago, Matt tattooed his tongue and throat with a subcutaneous injection. There is no more free space on his body except for the eyes..

Tattoo technique

The eye tattooing technique is simple, but the risk of problems is very high. Matt taped his eyes with duct tape to keep them open. I did it in front of a mirror and to the touch.

At first, he experimented with several colors in small spots. Matt put small flakes of glitter in his eyes and tattooed blue in one eye and green in the other. One eye turned green, the other blue. Eyes of different colors are original. They really grab people’s attention..

Mixed results

The results were mixed. The tattoo turned out to be uneven, the color was not evenly distributed. During the last session, Matt injected too deeply and punctured a blood vessel in his right eye, resulting in a huge black eye. The pain did not go away for a whole week, it was unbearable. Matt lay in bed for 2 days with ice in front of his eyes, not moving. Everything healed, but he didn’t stop there.

Matt still wanted to finish his eyes. They weren’t finished. 4 years later, Matt made the risky decision to inject ink into his eyes. He decided to get magenta on the outside and gold on the inside. The only person Matt trusted to tattoo his eyes besides himself was Emilio Gonzalez..

In October 2013, Emilio tattooed Matt’s eyes, adding magenta around the edges and gold in the middle. It was in Romania at the Bucharest Tattoo Convention.

Features of the procedure:

  • It only took 5 minutes.
  • It was very difficult to keep your eyes open during the procedure..
  • It is much better when not yourself, but someone else tattooing your eyes.!

Consequences of eye tattooing

After 4 hours, Matt flew back home. Only a few hours of flight, but his eyes were swollen from the pressure on the plane. It took 3 months for the tumor to subside. Matt had to use artificial tears. Air bubbles in tattoo ink mixed colors on eyes.

Caveats:

  • Never fly an airplane after an eyeball tattoo!
  • No scuba diving!
  • Stay away from air pressure changes!
  • Everything will heal within a week.

Eye examination by an ophthalmologist

Matt recently visited an ophthalmologist to have his eyes checked. The inspection lasted 3 hours. The doctor found no permanent damage to the eyes. “Emilio Gonzalez did an excellent job tattooing your eyes,” said a retinal specialist. Matt’s eyesight is in perfect order, and even 4 years after the tattoo, he does not need glasses. True ink mixed in his eyes as he flew in the sky on an airplane.

If someone tries to repeat this effect, they may lose their eyes..

A tattoo on the eyeball is not a procedure for everyone. But still, if you decide on this, then be sure to take care of your eyes after tattooing. Namely:

  • Girls should not wear makeup during the first days..
  • The eyes need to be instilled with a disinfectant for a week..
  • If you experience pain, consult a doctor immediately.
  • Monitor the condition of the eyes, undergo examinations by an ophthalmologist before and after the procedure.

Remember that the effect of tattooing eyeballs can be unpredictable for everyone..
