How to make mehendi pasta
Correctly prepared material for work will be the key to a lasting result. The mehendi pattern should last on the body from 14 to 22 days. To make pasta you will need:
- 500 ml hot water,
- 40 g natural henna,
- 10 g ground coffee,
- tea tree oil.
Stir the henna in hot water and put the liquid on low heat. Once the mixture boils, add coffee there and let it simmer for an hour. Add a couple of drops of tea tree oil at the end of preparation for color stability.
After cooking, strain the resulting mixture, wait until it cools. Insist it for at least three hours in a dark place. The paste should not be very liquid, but not too thick. Do not allow lumps to be in it; for this, stir it thoroughly.
Draw a pattern
Before applying the pattern, you need to prepare the skin. Cleanse the skin, wipe it with lotion, degrease it with alcohol. The best solution is to remove your hair so that it doesn’t interfere with your work. Patterns are applied using one of the options:
- special stick,
- fine brush,
- special device resembling a pastry bag.
Some craftswomen use the latter method, placing the mixture in a plastic bag and cutting off the end. However, it is not very convenient to use such a device, so get better a special bag for applying mehendi. The thinner the line, the more elegant the pattern will be..
If you are still an inexperienced craftswoman, you can use a stencil or apply a pattern to the skin first with a felt-tip pen, then circle it with henna. If you accidentally make a mistake by making a sloppy stroke, do not be discouraged. Removing freshly applied henna is easy with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol.
